Job Description

Dietary Cook (PT Positions Available!)

The ideal candidate would be responsible for the proper preparation of a variety of foods in large quantities in order to meet the nutritional needs of patients within the Patient Care Center.  Assist with the development of menus food preparation, service and accept reimbursement for food sold to the general public and employee population.

Responsibilities:

Dietary Cook (PT Positions Available!)

 Knowledge of and experience with food preparation, sanitation and hygienic methods within an institutional setting preferred.

  • Current certification as mandated by the City of Houston Health Department.
  • Working knowledge of preparation of therapeutic diets.
  • Understanding of Hospice philosophy of care.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • Effective interpersonal skills both oral and written.
  • Ability to accommodate multi-faith beliefs and backgrounds of patients/families.
  • Ability to function effectively as part of interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to make decisions and direct others.
  • Reliable transportation and/or reliable insured vehicle and valid Texas Driver’s License.
