Line Cook – Simon & the Whale (Freehand Hotel) (Flatiron)

Simon & the Whale, a 2 Star New York Times Restaurant, is seeking a talented LINE COOK to join us in developing a diverse, creative and fun kitchen culture dedicated to great cuisine and warm neighborhood hospitality.

Tasks include:

+prioritizing/executing a pre-service prep list
+complete and thorough setup of a designated station
+family meal production
+execution of hot and cold dishes in a fast-paced, high-intensity service
+post-service cleaning and breakdown

Key skills qualifications for this position are good organizational skills, knife skills, working knowledge of grilling, roasting, braising and sauté technique, ability to cook with speed and accuracy and strong communication skills. Must be a team player and have some flexibility in scheduling.

We are looking for a:

PM cook full time (from 2PM to close)
AM part time cook (from 6AM – 3PM)
