Barista (Del Mar)

Baristas expertly prepare coffee, tea and espresso drinks per recipe, presentation and time standards while maintaining a clean, organized and well stocked work area. Baristas set up and tear down the barista station, deliver orders to customers and assist in serving customers. Baristas must be focused, detail oriented, and approach every drink and every order with a sense of urgency. Previous barista experience in a fast paced required.

We are Mesteeso Coffee, a new cafe located in Viewpoint Brewery in Del Mar. Our main focus and goal is to provide our customers with the best service possible and the best cup of coffee they’ll ever have. We also roasts our own beans ensuring quality. We are looking to hire part time baristas. Experience is a plus but not necessary willing to train the right individuals.

Key Responsibilities
– Greet and interact with all customers. Prepare beverages and sell coffee and tea.
– Maintain coffee knowledge on current offerings and confidently and accurately communicate product
information to customers.
– Taste coffee or tea each shift worked to improve product knowledge and troubleshoot any product problems.
– Contributes to store profitability by following cash handling and cash register policies and procedures.

Job Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
– High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
– Retail and/or customer service experience required. Some coffee or food service experience preferred.

Qualifications:
– Ability to maintain a pleasant nature and sense of urgency with helping customers.
– Demonstrate a passion for artisan coffee and tea.
– Capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with co-workers and customers.
– Flexible, with the ability to multi-task in a highly demanding, stressful environment.
– Ability to communicate effectively with others, including giving and receiving feedback on the quality of services.
