Child Care Cook – Food Prep and Dishwasher (san jose south)

Are you an experienced cook who is passionate about providing nourishment and modeling healthy habits for young children?

Join Bright Horizons at San Jose and make a difference in the lives of children! We are looking for someone to work in the kitchen of our child care center helping with clean up and dishes from breakfast and lunch and then preparing the afternoon snack for young children and staff. You will work with one other cook to keep the kitchen organized and clean, prepare food, keep track of food allergies, and be familiar with state and federal nutritional requirements for children.

Hours will typically be 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm, but additional hours are available with the possibility of this position becoming full-time. We would love for you to spend part of your day directly interacting with the children in the classroom as a part-time teacher!

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years of age and meet state requirements for working in a child care program
• Experience cooking in a professional setting, preferably for large groups
• Ability to plan and implement a nutritionally sound menu rotation cycle
• State food handling certificate, if required
• Additional center/school requirements may apply
