We’re looking for an outgoing positive and experienced manager for a new restaurant opening in lower Westchester. It is in one of the most affluent towns in Westchester approx. 30 mins from Grand Central. It’s a great opportunity to be instrumental in the set up and design process so if, like me, you’ve always wanted to own your own restaurant then this could be the time. You would also be responsible for hiring a training a new team which can be a challenge in Westchester so you’ll need to be comfortable with this process, be able to pick your battles wisely and work with what you have rather than holding out for the perfect server.
We are taking over a space that was successful for 15 years, its in a park in a quiet town within walking distance of the metro north. There’s an outdoor patio seating 20, a bar area seating 14 and a main dining area seating 50.
Our concept is British / European, with the focus being on sustainability and great produce cooked and presented simply. We want service to be attentive but very casual and friendly, not the typical Westchester white tablecloth atmosphere.
Most importantly we want to create a warm and fun environment for everyone, customers and staff alike, where we can all can benefit from decent working hours and pay, great food and service. We want everyone to feel they have a voice in the restaurant and can use their knowledge and experience to drive our success and make us a destination.
There are many advantages to working in Westchester, particularly the hours as most restaurants operate only 5pm-10pm during the week. The pace is slower and less focussed on volume than the city so can be great if you’re looking for a good work life balance.

– Impeccable service standards, attention to detail
– Ability to multi task under pressure, while keeping a positive and calm demeanor
– Computer knowledge, including Word and Excel
– Experience with P&L reports, budgets
– Proficiency in overseeing the financial health of business
– Experience in Payroll and Scheduling
– Knowledge of food, wine, craft beer, local spirits, coffee, and classic mixology
– Ability to train employees effectively
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Westchester based a plus!
