AGM for 3-Michelin Manresa Restaurant (los gatos)

Manresa is a 3-Michelin starred, Relais and Chateaux restaurant located in Los Gatos. We care about our employees and acknowledge the contribution each one of them makes to our success. We are looking for a motivated professional to join us as an Assistant General Manager.

You must be a self-starter, organized, well mannered, professional, and a team player. We are looking for candidates who would like to continue growing in the industry and be part of a passionate team at a 3-Michelin star level.

We are looking for serious applicants only, who are available full-time, Wednesday through Sunday, 12pm – Close. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER:

Position provides administrative, technical and analytical support to the Kitchen and Dining Room Management teams, under the supervision of the General Manager and Executive Chef. This position will collaborate with internal and external partners to accomplish all administrative tasks relating to the organization and business operation of Manresa. The Assistant General Manager contributes to the planning, organization, and training necessary to achieve restaurant objectives in sales, costs, employee retention, communication and awareness, guest service and satisfaction, food quality and compliance.

Ensure that all guests feel welcome and are given responsive, professional, gracious service at all times
Perform all aspects of the position with efficiency, respect, professionalism, teamwork, knowledge, patience, awareness, compassion, courtesy and initiative.
Understand the philosophies of management and its owners. Display consistent attention to detail and follow through of all Manresa policies.
Represent the restaurant professionally through effective communication, cooperation and relationships with the all business partners.
Collaborate with the management team to create a culture and restaurant work environment based upon respect; foster opportunities for the team to learn, grow and develop their abilities.
Understand all programs, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training protocols.
Offer positive solutions to problems or issues and be a voice that is part of the decision making team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

The Assistant General Manager’s responsibilities span several departments, both internal & external to the restaurant, and are organized into the following categories:

Dining Room Service
HR & Labor
Financial Reporting
Office/Admin/Scheduling
Reservations/Menus
Maintenance

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 2-3 years of culinary experience, preferably in a fine dining environment.
Bachelor’s Degree and /or Culinary degree preferred
Excellent communication and organization skills. Ability to interact professionally and diplomatically with a variety of business partners.
Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel (Advanced ability), Outlook
Prior experience with accounting software, POS systems, and Aloha systems.
