Andytown is hiring a Production Roaster (sunset / parkside)

We are a growing team of coffee and baking professionals dedicated to serving amazing coffee and decadent pastries. Founded in March of 2014 in the Outer Sunset, Andytown is dedicated to sourcing, roasting, and brewing the most delicious coffee in the San Francisco fog. Since our first day of business, we have had an extraordinary customer following. Weekdays now have a constant stream of customers and weekends rarely have a time when we don’t have a line to the corner. With our coffee, pastries, and customer service, we have created an experience that people are willing to go out of their way for.

We are searching for a production roaster to join our team! Please have previous roasting experience before applying- a familiarity with the Loring s35 Kestral is preferred but not required. Please note that our production facility is based in the Outer Sunset District of San Francisco.

Job Details:
Your direct supervisor is: The Production Manager
This can either be a part time roasting position or a full time hybrid role- the person is welcome to fill in as production assistant to help the team whenever necessary or when needing full time hours
This is an hourly position, with access to health & dental insurance, sick pay, and all the coffee you can drink

Production Roaster Essential Duties:
Responsible for the maintenance and operation of the roasting equipment in order to fulfill the roasting schedule, being sure to adhere to the practices and quality standards of the department.
Become familiar with our Loring S35’s controls and profile interface and Cropster Roast Logger Software.
You will be responsible for recording and logging of data that is required to ensure that all regulations and department standards are being met and able to work in a focused, independent manner on roast duties.
You will often work independently according to the production schedule, please make sure to arrive on time and be ready to work at the start of your shift, otherwise this will offset the production schedule and send the production team into overtime.
Preparing green coffee beans for roasting
Monitor roasting processes to ensure consistency and identify potential issues and errors
Inspect finished product for quality and accurate fulfillment of production demands.
Remain alert and aware of potential mechanical hazards and act whenever necessary
Maintain a clean and tidy workspace throughout shift and before you go home.
When challenges arise, you resolve them with the help of your supervisor
In addition to the above goals, you will sometimes be asked to complete tasks that are not on the above list.

Job Requirements:
A positive attitude, professional demeanor, and a good sense of humor
Ability to remain attentive and engaged through repetitive and monotonous tasks
Comfortability working in a loud space with continual machinery noise
Ability to lift 50 pounds, team lift of up heavier objects
Ability to stand up to 8+ hours every shift
Sometimes will need to bend, crouch, kneel, and reach over-head, to complete tasks
