Matador Ballard is HIRING for Host/Bussers (SEATTLE)

Opper Melang Restaurants is a growing company specializing in restaurants + bars, unmatched service and uniquely designed atmospheres. We are looking for experienced Host/Bussers to join our team at Ballard Matador!

Located at NW Market St and Ballard Ave, The Matador has been a staple in the neighborhood, offering excellent food, beverages and service to both our newfound and longtime Guests. Ours is a menu of extensive tequilas, fresh ingredients and bold flavors for our strictly 21+ crowd, and we feature Happy Hours twice daily to keep them coming back for more.

We are a bustling restaurant and bar, seeking exceptional team members who hustle and maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times in order to ensure memorable experiences for our Guests. 


Greets all Guests with enthusiasm and friendliness.

Interacts effectively with guests, providing them an excellent experience.

Establishes guest service and satisfaction as a priority through personal example and follow-through.

Respond appropriately to Guest requests; communicate Guest requests to servers as needed.

Communicate with wait staff to maintain service efficiency and ensure guest satisfaction.

Thank guests as they are leaving.

Clean and organize tables efficiently.

Assist host and server with bringing waters and silverware to tables.

Stock service items such as plates, glassware, silverware, napkins, etc.

Between seating’s promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the front-of-the house including all tables, chairs, floors, windows and restrooms.

Windex doors and windows when needed.

Check bathrooms at the start of the shift, end of the shift and every 30 minutes in between. Refill product and ensure bathroom stays clean.

Water sections.

Assist in pre-bussing and bussing tables.

Take soiled tableware to dish room and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area.

Know what is going on in every area of the restaurant.

Responsible for constant sanitation, organization and proper food handling.

Follows and completes standards, checklists and side work.

Follow OSHA and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HAACP) guidelines, and Personal Protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds.


— At least 21 years of age.

— High school diploma or equivalent required (or working towards).

— Prior restaurant experience.

— Maintains a current Food Handlers Card.

— Honest and reliable.

— Energetic and self-starting with a “Guest First” focus.

— Utilizes constructive learning and coaching approaches.
