Position: Barista
Full-time AND Part-time, Weekend Availability Required!

Shack Coffee House is looking for a friendly, customer service-oriented barista with 2+ years of independent coffee shop and retail experience.

WHO WE ARE
Shack Coffee House is an independent coffee shop in West Seattle, serving the Avalon Neighborhood & Commuter Community with high-quality, delicious hot beverages and amazing savory Eggels and other simple fare daily. The Shack location has been serving the community for 100 years in some way, and we’re here to continue that Historical trend well into the future. We have a loyal base of customers and are looking for folks that want to be community-oriented stewards for our business. We have a passion for service and are committed to a welcoming atmosphere!

HOURS OF OPERATION & SHIFTS
We offer a very flexible schedule and are supportive of those that are pursuing their passions along-side serving our customers. Our hours work very well with college students or people who need good schedule flexibility. We do require every staff member to work at least one weekend shift, or to have availability and willingness to work weekends.

HOURS
Mon-Fri – 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sat/Sun – 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.

WHO YOU ARE
A customer-service minded individual with a passion for delicious coffee beverages, the willingness to share warmth and community with complete strangers and the ability to manage a high-volume flow of banter, pastry slinging and foamy goodness. You realize that community is just as important as an amazing cup of coffee and are drawn toward conversation and connection with customers.

Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills
Friendly, positive demeanor
Reliable, punctual, and motivated
Ability to multi-task effectively
Commitment to taking an active role in our SHACK community (this is key)

What’s Required:
1 year of barista-specific experience
2 years of customer service experience in a high-volume environment
WEEKEND AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION
