ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE RITZ

The Shift Supervisor is an integral part of the management team and is responsible for running daily operations as well as providing leadership to our staff members. Key responsibilities include: managing the staff by upholding standards of presentation, food quality, excellent guest service and maintaining a positive “can do” attitude. The Shift Supervisor is a brand representative for the Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas and is responsible for delivering on the company goals, visions and mission statement at all times.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Ensures that ALL GUESTS have an AWESOME EXPERIENCE, and are EXCITED to come back.
-Manages operations of the venue, which includes daily decision-making, flexibility, staff support, guest interaction, scheduling, and effective planning while upholding standards, product quality, and cleanliness.
-Actively listens to server/guest interaction and effectively directs and develops the staff
-Scheduling: Maintains staffing at standard labor ratios and ensures the venue is properly staffed to par, at all times by utilizing labor management tools.
-Posts and communicates schedules in a timely manner.
-Actively engages with the guests during every shift.
-Expects and leads strong communication with all areas of the venue (management, trainers, tickets, runners, servers, bar, kitchen, etc.) including daily shift meetings with all staff members.
-Maintains an upbeat presence on the floor during operations and away from the office.
-Maintains the expected ambiance (lighting/sound/temperature levels/presentation) and coaches all staff members to hold that standard at all times.
-Promotes a distraction-free guest experience by enforcing our no-talk/texting policy.
-Conducts staff and keeps staff informed on new developments and upcoming events.
-Ensures all staff members adhere to the Company’s uniform standards.
-Accurately performs staff and department checkouts, following company expectations of proper/safe money handling and cleanliness standards.
-Ensures all payments are accounted for (cash and credit vouchers), all comps are verified and staff has been properly developed on tip declaration.
-Maintains proper cash handling procedures are followed, including preparing and balancing cash drawers, completing End of Day Reports and cash drops.
-Effectively opens and closes the venue ensuring all departments have completed required duties and incoming team is set up for success.

MUST BE
-At least 18 years of age
-High School Diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-One (1) year minimum of high volume venue experience (prior Alamo Drafthouse experience will be considered in lieu of venue experience and previous theater management is beneficial).
-ServSafe Certification, local Health Cards (as required) and TABC Certification are required.
-Must be positive, fun, coachable and open minded.
-Resourceful problem-solving skills.
-Expected work week of 30-45 hours minimum; higher volume seasons and heavier work weeks are expected.
-Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office) and office skills required.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This job operates in a kitchen environment, housed with equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, frier, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise. The noise level in the work environment can be moderate. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, cuts, burns, slipping, tripping, and minimal exposure to cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; and the ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
