Shaner Hotels has an amazing opportunity for Line Cook at our 203-room Southbridge Hotel and Conference Center in Southbridge, Massachusetts! Located in the charming New England town of Southbridge, Massachusetts, the Southbridge Hotel & Conference Center is within an hour’s drive of both Boston and Hartford. This elegantly restored, historic hotel combines the beauty and hospitality of a fine hotel with the technological convenience of an IACC-accredited conference center. It offers 203 luxuriously furnished guest rooms, an impressive 24,000 square feet of event space, a full-service lounge and restaurant and indoor pool and fitness center.

Job Requirements

Line Cook:

Responsible for the hot food production, as well as assisting in monitoring of the cold food preparation, assuring safety, sanitation, quality and consistency standards are being followed. Perform all duties assigned by the Sous Chef. Maintain / enhance preparation and presentation guidelines for the Conference Center.  Monitor the line set up prior to all meal functions to ensure maximum efficiency during meal periods.  Check pars for shift use and determine necessary preparation and freezer pull. Note any out-of-stock items or possible shortages.  Return all food items to designated areas, being sure to cover, label and date all food items. Monitor and control the sanitation of the kitchen and equipment, as well proper storage of all items, including rotating, covering, dating and labeling of all food items, thus maintaining a healthy and safe work environment which meets/exceeds federal, state and corporate standards and regulations. Participate in cross-training for the different positions within the kitchen.  Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Requires ability to operate and maintain deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, flat top grill etc. Requires oral, reading and written communication skills.
