Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto’s interpretation of Modern Japanese fare is now hiring energetic, talented Line Cooks at Morimoto Napa. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing global restaurant group.

Cooks are responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in handling all aspects of the kitchen operation corresponding to the position, including but not limited to the maintenance and development of the food to the highest quality.

Position Requirements;

– Minimum of One (1) year of experience for line cook in a restaurant or similar environment preferred, adequate knowledge of food safety and sanitation, flexible schedule, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
– A highly motivated and energetic personality.
– Has the ability to take initiative and exhibit flexibility.
– Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
– Must be flexible if needed for occasional work outside of normal business hours.
– Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to Morimoto Brand standards.

Candidates must be capable of, but not limited to, the following duties/requirements:

– Working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
– Knowledge/familiarity with Japanese cuisine is a plus.
– Maintain quality and proper presentation of food (with adherence to Morimoto Brand Standard).
– Extensive skill, knowledge, and experience in all aspects of the kitchen operation, interpersonal service skills, organizational skills in order to plan time effectively.
– Give detailed instructions regarding work to be completed (either directly or by enforcement of well-established rules), allow work, observe performance in detail and work with subordinates to improve performance.
– Ability to motivate employees and work as a team.
– Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws and ordinances.
– Able to frequently move freely about the restaurant, stand for long periods and withstand various activities such as frequent walking, standing, and bending.
– Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet and to manipulate them from heights.
– Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
