ASSISTANT BOH/KITCHEN SUPERVISOR (La Jolla)

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

A kitchen supervisor is required to work with other Managers to adhere to the company standards in food service, personnel management, organization, training, leadership development and sanitation. Focus on the objectives of the company to meet targeted food costs, labor costs and sanitation goals. The Kitchen Supervisor will help with tasks such as inventory, recipe costing, delegation of tasks, enforcing breaks, ordering of goods and quality assurance of product. The Kitchen Supervisor will be a team player and strive to build stronger, more capable employees, demonstrate leadership, teach others and show decision making skills. The Kitchen Supervisor will constantly exhibit a high level of personal and company integrity to ensure that our food, service and guest satisfaction can be the highest possible. QUALIFICATIONS

-Be 21 years of age
-Be able to communicate and understand the predominate language(s) of the restaurant
-Have at least three years knowledge of service in food and beverage
-Have at least one year of Supervising Experience
-Have knowledge of cooking on a line
-Possess excellent communication and basic math skills
-Be able to work in standing position for long periods of time
-Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
-Must have and provide updated copies of Food Handlers certifications as regulated by the State of California and/or San Diego County

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

-Serve and help others serve consistent, safe, quality food at all times
-Understand completely all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs of Shore Rider
-Respond to guest requests quickly and with courtesy at all times
-Treat everyone what works for the restaurant with respect
-Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared, portioned and serves according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
-Make sure that your daily tasks and routine ensure an “A” health inspection grade are complete and those goals are met by other staff
-Work clean, be clean, and sweeps mid shift and end of day to ensure no rodent activity. When in doubt, clean it.
-Complete daily tasks such as food temperature/cooling log, refrigeration log, changing of sanitation buckets, proper labeling of food, transitions with staff, and general organizing as required
-Continually strive to develop your staff in all areas of managerial and professional development
-Ensure all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection
-Ensure that all products are received in correct unit count and condition
-Help with ordering and inventory
