Hogsalt Hospitality is seeking a Bilingual Culinary Training Coordinator. Hogsalt Hospitality is a Chicago based restaurant group run by Brendan Sodikoff, and includes Au Cheval, Bavette’s, Doughnut Vault, Gilt Bar, Green Street Smoked Meats, High Five Ramen, Maude’s Liquor Bar and 3 Greens Market. The salary range for this leadership role would be $65-75k based on experience.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is proficient in problem solving. Must believe in quality by consistently upholding defined standards over time. Must have the ability to positively lead others by practicing generosity and hospitality toward teammates and our guests while multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads.
Job Duties Include, but not limited to:
– Create onboarding strategy that acclimates new hires to our policies, standards, and goals as a company.
– Direct onboarding of all BOH employees.
– Organize, edit, and maintain all training materials for onboarding.
– Develop and manage training materials for digital Hogsalt App platform for all positions.
– Work with Directors to standardize and define training for each day in each job code.
– Work with Directors to create standardized practical exams to pass for each job code and each station as it applies.
– Develop and lead ongoing training classes for stores with a BOH focus.
– Participate or lead in implementing and training new systems depending on the needs.
– Track and check in on progress of new hires.
– Track and check in on progress of BOH managers in training.
– Train and mentor certified trainers in the store. Implement Train the Trainer classes.
– Support hourly and management positions as needed.
– Available for on-call emergencies with BOH director team two days per week as assigned by Executive Culinary Director.
– Embody and represent the Hogsalt Service Philosophy.
– Mentor, coach and guide all staff on Hogsalt brand of service and hospitality.
Requirements:
– Minimum 3 year’s experience as a BOH Leader.
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in both English and Spanish.
– Professional and confident verbal and written communication with guests, employees and ownership.
– Open availability.
– Flexible and willingness to adapt to ongoing changes.
– Able to inspire, motivate, and develop employees.
– Ability to efficiently organize workload and adapt quickly to change.
