Restaurant Manager – Embassy Suites South Bend

The NEW Embassy Suites South Bend is looking for a Restaurant Manager! 

With a prime location across the street from the University of Notre Dame, this property has 165 rooms, our complimentary breakfast and evening reception, and 8,000 square feet in banquet space.  The ideal candidate will be an excellent leader with a true passion for food and beverage and a talent for developing others. At least 2 years of food and beverage leadership experience is required.

What will I be doing?

As Restaurant Manager with Embassy Suites South Bend, you will direct and organize the activities and services of our Traditions Restaurant and Bar, as well as In Room Dining.

You would be responsible for keeping the restaurant in high-functioning working order through exemplary cleanliness, organization and reliability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Manage all outlet operations to include, but not limited to, guest service standards and initiatives, product quality, cost controls and overall profitability, marketing initiatives, systems use and management, department management, policy and procedure implementation and enforcement and meeting participation and facilitation

• Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision and professional development, conducting counseling and evaluations and delivering recognition and reward

• Monitor and assess product and service and satisfaction trends, evaluate and address issues and make improvements accordingly.

• Ensure the outlet is relevant and following current Food and Beverage trends, and help build awareness of the outlet to the local community through the social media sites, and other marketing initiatives in coordination with the Food and Beverage Director.

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation and alcohol awareness standards

• Initiate and implement marketing and up-selling techniques to promote restaurant food and beverage and services and to maximize overall revenue

• Ensure team members have current knowledge of outlet offerings, products, services, facilities, events, pricing and policies and knowledge of the local area and events

• Recruit, interview and train team members

• Assist the Director of Food and Beverage with data input, reporting and tracking restaurant financials.
