Shift: Float Cook: Shifts range from 5:00am-8:00pm due to kitchen needs. This position is a float between our Care Center and Assisted Living.

Cook positions are full time 60-80 hours per bi-weekly pay period, which makes them benefit eligible. Cook positions require every other weekend and every other holiday.

Prior work experience in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets or related experience in a similar type facility is preferred but not required.

What you’ll do: A typical day includes working as part of a team to prepare and serve meals for residents, including those with multiple dietary restrictions. You’ll serve snacks and supplements and connect with residents each day as you document nutritional intake. You’ll also help with dining and kitchen cleanup, safety monitoring, and sanitary practices. It’s fast-paced work, but the time goes quickly.

Qualifications

Servesafe certification preferred. Prior work experience in quantity cooking and therapeutic diets or related experience in a similar type of setting is preferred.
Ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities. Certification as a food protection manager by ServSafe or other equivalent ANSI approved program is preferred before assuming duties of person in charge.
Basic ability to communicate and comprehend. Able to demonstrate knowledge of foodborne diease prevention and apply food safety principles.
