Chef de Cuisine – Embassy Suites Alexandria Old Town

The Embassy Suites Alexandria Old Town, islocated in the heart of one of Virginia’s premierneighborhoods. Our 288 all suite hotel boasts 7,400 sq. ft. ofmeeting space is home to more than 100 team members! Many of our team has worked here since the property opened in November 1990.

We are currently searching for a Chef de Cuisine! In this role, you would be responsible for assisting in the direction and administration of the planning, preparation, production and control of all culinary operations in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standard

  • Direct and oversee all culinary operations, to include, but not limited to, preparation and production of all hotel meals, food quality and presentation, compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulation, team member productivity and performance, implementation of policies and procedures, cost controls and overall profitability

  • Create and implement menu selections for special banquet themes and events based on current food trends and regional tastes in partnership with the Director of Food and Beverage and Catering Manager, as needed

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local and company health, safety, and sanitation standards

  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, conducting counseling and assisting with evaluations, training, scheduling and assigning work and delivering recognition and reward

Minimum Requirements:

  • Two or more years of banquet culinary experience
  • Five or more years of culinary management experience
  • Spanish bilingual highly desired
  • Experience with online purchasing programs, for example Birchstreet or Avendra
  • MS Office proficiency
