Job Description

The Production Cook position will be responsible for safely and accurately combining all ingredients previously prepared to make a work in process (salad dressing, soup, or sauces) according to recipes provided by Corporate QA and R&D. The Head Cook position will also include minor supervisory responsibilities to ensure conformance to recipes and other cooking procedures. This position must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while following all aspects of food preparation under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and maintaining focus on safety, quality, waste, and line efficiency.

What is the job?

Load ingredients into the kettle in the order designated per the recipe
Perform quality sensory checks as required per batch produced
Operate kettle controls as necessary to cook products; ensure appropriate gallons produced through dipsticks
Transfer ingredients in barrels from plastic pallets to metal carts
Operate steam and water valves as necessary to complete the cooking process
Operate pallet jack/walk-behind daily, completing the proper documentation for forklift inspection as needed
Occasionally move or slide drums weighing up to 500 lbs
Effectively troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues as needed
What you bring to the job?

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be able to do so continuously throughout the shift
Must be able to move or slide drums weighing up to 500 lbs (2-person)
Must be able to stand, walk, or bend throughout the shift
Must be able to work overtime as required
Must be team oriented and be able to clearly communicate as necessary
Must be detail-oriented and possess good organizational skills
Must be able to perform well under stress
Must be comfortable operating equipment
Responsible for following all applicable operational work instructions
Responsible for following all Food Safety Policies and Safety Procedures
Responsible for QRMP standards implementation as defined by the accountability list document
Employees will follow all safety protocols and perform their job responsibilities in a safe manner
Head Cook: Must have strong organizational and communication skills
Head Cook: Must be able to motivate and display leadership abilities when working with Production Cooks
Head Cook; Must be comfortable to take initiative to assist Production Cooks in any issues and troubleshoot as necessary
