Responsibilities
Develop Scripts in Chef.

Desired Skills and Requirements
Strong development/scripting skills using Chef, Ruby, Python, Java, JavaScript with the ability to pick up any language quickly.
Experience with Software Development Practices and developing Web applications and REST APIs.
Good knowledge on Virtualization APIs – AWS/ Rackspace.
Good understanding of Container technologies: Docker/ Mesos/Kubernetes/Chef Habitat.
Good knowledge of web and API protocols (REST, HTTP, SOAP).
Good knowledge RHEL/Bash Scripting.
Excellent troubleshooting skills for post-development, post-deployment, and infrastructure integration.

Job Description
TEKsystems is seeking a remote Chef Developer for a long term contract opportunity.
This will be a remote support engagement with some limited travel to offices in Seattle, Portland and Anchorage (once a quarter)
The Successful candidate will have significant experience utilizing Chef to automate the deployment of virtual infrastructure and continuous integration best practice.
Required Experience
Previous experience automating virtualized environment deployments
Experienced integrating DevOps tools in to a Virtual Environment
Experience with Chef
Experience building Virtual Infrastructures for agile development teams.
