Assistant Manager & Server/or Bartender, La Jolla Fine Dinning Bistro (La Jolla)

Summary of Duties: Assistant Manager is responsible for the successful operation of the Restaurants along with the General Manager. He/she helps training, managing, and overseeing the staff to ensure members receive the highest level of customer service possible. He/She will act as acting manager 2 days a week and Server or Bartender depending on qualification, the remaining of the week schedule. Restaurant operation hours is weekdays 11am-9.30pm. weekends 9am-9.30pm

Compensation: Assistant Manager $18/hour; Server or Bartender $14 per hour + Tips

Essential Duties:
Manages and motivates the Restaurant team (including: performance management, and recognition duties)
Help to trains new employees and provides ongoing training for all FOH staff
Coordinates the restaurant schedule, covering different shifts if necessary
FOH and customer service contact for members at the restaurant, including: answering questions, welcoming, taking tables and other member communications
Acts as a liaison between the restaurant and all other departments, communicating relevant information to the restaurant staff as needed
Develops and implements restaurant policies and procedures along with G.M.
Manages and maintains inventory
Orders any supplies needed for the restaurant
Conducts departmental meetings along with G.M.
Responsible with GM to coordinate all sales material with marketing team
Responsible to collect all Delivery orders and make ensure Production Delivery in a timely mater.
Responsible to generate sales report at the end of each week in coordination with GM.
Other duties as assigned

Other Duties:
Responsible to serve tables when general manager is schedule to work the same day
Responsible to help deliver if needed to client
Responsible for keeping restaurant area clean, neat and orderly
Responsible for promoting the cafe and build a report among the local hotel concierge.

Qualifications:
Must be highly motivated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent management and leadership skills
Good organizational skills
An understanding of food and beverage operations including Micros system

Working Conditions: working inside and outside during operation, Operating a elevators to move between restaurant outlet and working outside during deliveries

Physical Requirements:
ability to lift 40 pound boxes to a height of 3-4 feet and load them into trucks
the “ability to learn technical material
Ability to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the time
Needs to move about the Building and up to 4 radius block of the cafe
Constantly operates a computer Terminal and beverage equipment
Must position self to remove boxes from low and high shelves 1-5 feet
Answers phones, provides information to clients and answers inquiries
Must be able to see obstacles at distances when delivering catering
Must be able to detect the odor of fuel or gas in work area

REQUIREMENTS:
Fluent in English
Open schedule with no restrictions
Cash handling / Cashier experience
Barista Experience
Experience using Toast POS is preferred
Must Have at least 1 year experience as lead or Fine Dinning server in busy restaurant.
Previous Assistant Manager or Shift Manager experience a plus
