Chef (Greenville, IL)

Fresh Ideas is accepting applications for a dynamic, results-driven Chef to join our team at Greenville University in Greenville, IL.  You will be a hands-on culinarian dedicated to the creation and vision of a variety of meals that use high-quality ingredients to meet sustainability standards.  You must possess the ability to balance leadership, creative cooking, managing financial aspects, and interaction with team members, customers, and clients.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Responsible for preparation and quality of all food items served
-Manage kitchen staff to ensure safety, sanitation and proper food preparation
-Train and mentor staff while promoting a positive work environment
-Accountable for accurate inventory and supply levels
-Develop weekly orders within a set budget
-Create special menu items and theme days to promote engagement with the team and customers

Qualifications:
-Must possess a current ServSafe certification
-Associate’s Degree or Chef’s Certificate from an accredited institution preferred
-Previous 3-5 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, preferred
-Previous 3-5 years of experience in a college or university food service program, preferred
-Exceptional communication and customer service skills
-Ability to operate necessary technology and programs utilized
-Flexibility to cover evenings, weekends and holidays as required
