Opper Melang Restaurants is a growing company specializing in restaurants + bars, unmatched service and uniquely designed atmospheres. We are looking for experienced Bartenders to join our team at Ballard Matador!

Located at NW Market St and Ballard Ave, The Matador has been a staple in the neighborhood, offering excellent food, beverages and service to both our newfound and longtime Guests. Ours is a menu of extensive tequilas, fresh ingredients and bold flavors for our strictly 21+ crowd, and we feature Happy Hours twice daily to keep them coming back for more.

We are a bustling restaurant and bar, seeking exceptional team members who hustle and maintain a positive and friendly attitude at all times in order to ensure memorable experiences for our Guests. 

Our Bartenders contribute to OMR’s Mission by serving up exceptional hospitality to our Guests in the forms of irresistible charm, friendly conversation, and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to our brand, food and spirits.

Our Bartenders are attentive to Guests’ needs and make them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed throughout their experience within our walls. Why? Because it’s what we would want for ourselves as Guests; it’s because as professionals, we care for our craft; it’s because any Guest at your bar top could become your next favorite “Regular”, and we all love our Regulars!

Our Bartenders are also responsible for ensuring the quick, precise creation of our beverages for all restaurant Guests, bar top or otherwise. The immense power that comes with this ability to pace the restaurant around you shall be respected and wielded prudently; teamwork and responsibility for the needs of our Servers, Support Staff and Back of House remain a top priority. The bar top is not The Great Divide and our Bartenders make every effort to assist other team members when possible.

Finally, our Bartenders bring their own unique flair to the more mundane tasks required of them, such as cash handling, stocking, cleaning and organizing. We have always found that positive attitudes and enthusiasm during the small stuff translates into greatness when you’ve got bigger fish to fry.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

— At least 21 years of age.

— High school diploma or equivalent required.

— Maintains a current state alcohol serving permit.

— Maintains a current Food Handlers Card.

— Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.

— Knowledge of the steps of service and bar top procedures, generally involving a minimum of two (2) years as a bartender in a fast-paced, physically demanding, full-service, high-volume restaurant.

— Honest and reliable.

— Energetic and self-starting with a “Guest First” focus.

— Utilizes constructive learning and coaching approaches.

— Extensive tequila knowledge a major plus!
