DELI/PREP COOK – FT

A hands-on deli/prep assistant in a very busy environment. Primary function: Direct interaction w/customers at least 75% of day in which you prepare specialty sandwiches/lunch items (intermittently all day some days), handing orders to customers & explaining contents, prepping for & assisting w/ from-scratch entrees (currently over 40), making salads; filling deli orders, & other duties as assigned. Must be able to work well in kitchen space open to the public & customer service must be your 2nd name.

Qualifications and Skills
FT PERSON: As per above. In addition, cooking experience assisting w/making entrees/sides a great asset & can command a higher salary. Overall, deli/prep experience a MUST. How to operate and clean slicer a MUST. MUST have above average customer service skills. Must like people and be able to form relationships with them & co-workers. MUST work with reasonable speed, know how to use a knife & need training only about the store itself and not about systems. Must work until day’s job is done regardless of quitting time.
MUST HAVE A VEHICLE. NO PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AVAILABLE. WILL PAY MORE FOR AN EXPERIENCED PERSON
