Bookkeeper

Reports to: Food Service Manager or General Manager

FLSA status: Nonexempt

Position Summary:
Complete cash accounting, invoice processing, and Unit Accounting System requirements accurately. Count safe funds and cash register drawers. Prepare and report the daily cash deposits. Maintain change fund amounts per the Unit Accounting Manual
Qualifications:
  • 2 years experience handling cash and accounting tasks
  • Computer skills using basic Microsoft Office and ability to learn Guckenheimer UAS system.
  • Must be able to communicate with others to convey information effectively.
  • Must be able to communicate in English with customers.
  • Appropriate phone etiquette with customers and vendors
  • Ethical handling of proprietary Guckenheimer and client information
Position Responsibilities:
  • Count cash drawers to determine deposit amounts and return them to a set bank.
  • Record sales and safe amounts on the UAS system.
  • Post vendor invoices to the UAS system
  • Prepare and report daily cash deposits.
  • Place change orders as required.
  • Generate and print catering invoices.
  • Prepare UAS reports weekly and monthly
  • Operate Cash Register accurately.
  • And other duties as assigned.
  • Must follow all safety rules and actively prevent accidents.
  • Insure that all cash registers are stocked with adequate change for meals
  • Commitment to the service values and ethics of the client company.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Strong customer service skills with both internal and external.
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Accurately record sales on a cash register and make change for customers within a 1% margin of error.
  • Ability to work effectively with cashiers and managers to maintain service and quality standards.
  • Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
Nonessential Skills:
  • Greet guests, making them feel welcome.
  • Operate cash register taking payment from customers.
  • Receive catering orders from customers and input into the UAS system
  • 1-2 years experience in a food serice environment
  • Generate and maintain a database and spread shets
Reporting to this position: None
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Employee has to work under pressure and time deadlines during peak periods.
  • Must be able to use a cash register or computer key board for up to 2 hours continuously.
  • Position requires use of a computer terminal up to 6 hours per day at intervals.
