WORKING CHEF DE CUISINE

This iconic Union Square restaurant serving American comfort breakfast, brunch, lunch & dinner in a casual & mindful atmosphere. Only passionate, energetic, and service driven individuals need apply.

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Co-manage all aspects of the kitchen
• Ensure the quality preparation of all menu items during a la carte service, events and special functions
• Personally prepare meals and ensure that all staff follow recipes with consistency and quality standards
• Maintain cleanliness standards of the Kitchen
• Monitor all plates for presentation and quality before serving to guests
• Ensure proper handling/storage of all food items
• Communicate the vision and goals of the culinary experience to all staff; inspire cooperation and commitment
• Display an awareness to the concept of quality controls
• Ensure excellence in guest satisfaction through commitment with a hands-on approach
• Maintain a positive and professional attitudes with coworkers and guests

Requirements include but are not limited to:
• Formal culinary education or equivalent experience
• Prior experience as a Sous Chef at casual dining establishment
• Must be able to work all stations in the Kitchen
• Certificate in Food Protection from NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene
• Current, comprehensive resume with 2 industry references
