Poor Reds has been around since 1947 and has become an institution, drawing visitors from around the World. Featuring wood fired Steaks, Chicken, and Ribs with salads and sandwiches. Located in El Dorado between Cameron Park & Placerville off of Hwy 50. 6221 Pleasant Valley Rd, El Dorado, CA

We are looking for a Sous Chef to lead the kitchen, contribute to menu development, and ensure quality of food and presentation. The Sous Chef will report directly to the Chef and work with the Front of House Managers and owner. Schedule is a mix of days and evenings and offers very competitive pay with room for advancement between us and our sister restaurant The Purple Place.

The Sous Chef oversees:
• Food Quality and helps control Food Cost
• New Menu item input, Daily Specials and Event Menus
• Interviewing and Training Kitchen Staff
• Labor Cost and helps with Kitchen Scheduling
• Daily & Weekly Ordering
• Work the Line during peak service times
• Cleanliness in the kitchen
• Profit & Loss Statement Management (can be taught)
• Assist in Restaurant operations

This is a Working Sous Chef Position and requires person to have experience in position.
This position requires the applicant to have:
• Ability to Cook and have Experience in a Professional Kitchen
• Degree in Culinary Arts and or a few years of experience as a Sous Chef/Kitchen Supervisor
• Stable work history- we are not looking for a short-term manager
• Some Recipe generation and menu item development experience
• Experience or the ability to learn how to make schedules to meet sales projections and labor goals.
• Experience and knowledge in presentation, quality and preparation
• Some Human Resources knowledge of staff reviews and hiring practices
• Good Communication Skills
