Position Overview & Responsibilities

As Sous Chef, you will assist the Chef in all phases of operations of the Heart of the House, while developing management techniques and knowledge to manage operations in the absence of the Chef, and work to advance to a Chef position. You will maintain staffing in HOH, specifically in the dish area. The Sous chef works with the Chef to create and maintain a positive, team oriented department. The Sous Chef will meet all supplies, operating and labor budgets, as set by the General Manager to run an efficient and profitable operation while ensuring 100% customer satisfaction.

Position Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience as chef or sous chef/chef de cuisine in a casual or fine dining, full service restaurant Internal team members will have a minimum of six months continuous service with demonstrated attitudes and behaviors that facilitate strong leadership skills and an initiative and passion to be the best they can be. HS education or equivalent
  • Some experience or knowledge compiling, preparing and maintaining P&L statements, budgets, and cost controls
  • Knowledge of computers sufficient to fulfill management functions
  • Applied experience in OSHA, EEOC, FMLA, FLSA and Health Department matters Certified to meet state safety and sanitation requirements
  • Ability to read, communicate, and write (i.e., recipes, charts, employment and training materials) in English. Excellent guest relations skills.
